Caitlyn Campbell, our featured member for July, dreams of becoming a book critic and traveling to Paris and Italy someday. Like her, we all have dreams and goals for our lives.

My dream is having a book written about my life and maybe turning it into a movie someday. That may sound unrealistic, but you just never know unless you keep trying. Recently, I watched Rudy, with Sean Astin. The movie was about a student who struggled to get into Norte Dame and play on the school’s football team. Though his grades weren’t very good and his athletic skills didn’t meet up to their expectations, he made it all happen by persevering. Before walking out of the tunnel to his first game—which was the last football game of his senior year—he says, “I've been ready for this my whole life!” If you haven’t seen that movie, I encourage you to go watch it.

When I started the hearing loss blog and website, I never expected to have over 1000 unique readers—that was last June. Last year, I was featured on the cover of Hearing Loss Magazine, which has over 40,000 subscribers. If I keep trying, someday my dream of having a book published and sharing my story with millions of people around the world just might come true. I truly think that if you believe in yourself, it is meant to happen.
